CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team wrapped up the final day of competition at the UVA Fall Classic on Sunday at the Snyder Tennis Center in Charlottesville, Va.
In the blue singles draw, Jai Corbett claimed a win in the finals of the back draw as he outlasted Cornell’s Alex Sydney in a three-set battle. After dropping the first set 6-1, Corbett came back to win the next two with scores of 6-3, 10-8.
Rafael Ribas also claimed a win on the final day as he defeated Rick Timmerman, 6-4, 7-6 in the third place match of the green singles back draw.
The Hokies will be back on the court Oct. 17-22 when they host the ITA Atlantic Regionals at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va.
