ATHENS, Ga. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team wrapped up competition at the 46th Annual Intercollegiates on Sunday afternoon at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga.
Aaron Gomez competed in the quarterfinals of the Division II singles flight, battling Alabama’s Andrew Goodwin to three sets. Gomez claimed the first set 6-4, but Goodwin rallied back to take the next two, 6-2, 6-0.
Nic Wilson picked up a win in the consolation bracket of the Division III singles flight downing Connor Knox of ETSU in straight sets with scores of 7-5, 6-2.
The Hokies will be back on the court Sept. 20-22 at the Virginia Ranked +1 Invitational at the Snyder Tennis Center in Charlottesville, Va.
