BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team has announced its 2013-14 schedule which is highlighted by dual matches against 16 teams that appeared in the final ITA poll last season. The Hokies are also slated to host the 2013 ITA Atlantic Regional this fall.

Tech is coming off of its seventh consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Hokies finished with a 16-10 overall record last season and posted a 6-4 record in the ACC.

Virginia Tech has a busy fall slate with eight tournaments, including hosting the 2013 ITA Atlantic Regional Oct. 17-22 at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The Hokies will kick off the season Sept 13-17 at the Southern Intercollegiate in Athens, Ga.

The Hokies will be on the road the following three weekends beginning with the UVA Ranked+1 event in Charlottesville, Sept. 20-22. Tech will compete in the ITA Men’s All-American (Sept. 28-Oct. 6) as well as the UVA Fall Classic (Oct. 4-6). Virginia Tech will conclude the fall slate Nov. 7-9 at the Charleston Invitational.

The dual portion of the schedule will begin on Jan. 19, hosting Yale and Davidson in a double-header at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

Tech will travel to Norman, Okla. for the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, Jan. 25-26. The Hokies are slated to face host-team Oklahoma the opening day and will play either Northwestern or Tulsa on the second day.

In the non-conference, the Hokies are also scheduled to face Penn State, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, St. Bonaventure, Washington, Boise State and VCU.

The Hokies will play their ACC opener on Feb. 15 at Boston College. Tech will also have road matches against conference foes Notre Dame (Feb. 28), Duke (March 21), North Carolina (March 23), Georgia Tech (April 4) and Clemson (April 6).

On March 28, Virginia Tech is tabbed to play its ACC home opener against Florida State. The Hokies will also welcome Miami (March 30), Wake Forest (April 11) and NC State (April 13) to Blacksburg. Tech will conclude the regular season at home against in-state rival Virginia on April 19.

The ACC Championship is scheduled for April 24-27 in Cary, N.C.
