Seeds Announced for the 2013 ACC Men's Tennis Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The 52nd-ranked Virginia Tech men's tennis team will open the 2013 ACC Men's Tennis Championship on Thursday, April 25 at 3 p.m. against 11th-seeded Boston College at the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Park.

The Hokies (14-8, 6-4 ACC) defeated the Eagles (5-15, 0-10 ACC) 7-0 during the regular season. Winner will advance to face No. 3 seeded Wake Forest in the second round on Friday, April 26.

Top-seeded Virginia (21-0, 10-0 ACC) will be going after its seventh straight ACC title, and is one of five ACC teams among the nation’s top 30 in the latest ITA national rankings. Also receiving first round byes include Duke (21-4, 9-1) with the No. 2 seed and Wake Forest (18-7, 7-3) with the No. 3 seed.

The tournament will also include the nation’s top two doubles teams in Virginia’s Jarmere Jenkins and Mac Styslinger at No. 1, and Duke’s Henrique Cunha and Raphael Hemmeler at No. 2, along with the nation’s top two singles players. Virginia’s Jenkins (No. 1), Alex Domijan (No. 2), and Styslinger (No. 23), Duke’s Cunha (No. 5),and Clemson’s Yannick Maden (No. 24) all currently stand among the nation’s top 25 singles players.

Action begins with first-round matches on Thursday and continues through Sunday’s 11 a.m. championship match. Please see the pairings below or the attached bracket for the full schedule.
