Hokies wrap up Jim Russell Invitational
Lucas Oliveira secures win on final day

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Senior Lucas Oliveira recorded a win for the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team on Sunday morning during the final day of the Jim Russell Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Oliveira downed North Carolina State’s Trey Carter in straight sets with scores of 6-4, 6-3.

Sophomore Marko Lovrinovic fell in a pair of tough sets to Damien Brenard of East Carolina, 7-5, 7-5.

Tech will conclude the fall slate next weekend when freshmen Andreas Bjerrehus and Amerigo Contini represent the Hokies at the ITA National Indoor Championships. The pair qualified after winning the ITA Atlantic regional event.
