Hokies continue tournament play at Jim Russell Invitational
Tech has wins in singles and doubles

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Members of the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team continued competition on Saturday at the Jim Russell Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Lucas Oliveira secured a win in straight sets over NC State’s Ivan Sanchez in the blue singles draw.

In doubles, Oliveira paired up with Marko Lovrinovic for an 8-4 win over host team UNC’s duo of William Parker and Oystein Steiro. The pair fell to ECU’s Colin Rollier and Joran Vliegen, 8-4 in the next round.

The Hokies will continue competition on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.

White Singles
Simon Norenius (NCST) def. Marko Lovrinovic (VT) 4-6, 7-5, 6-1

Doubles
Lovrinovic/Oliveira (VT) def. William Parker/Oystein Steiro (UNC) 8-4
Colin Rollier/Joran Vliegen (ECU) def. Lovrinovic/Oliveira (VT) 8-5
