BLACKSBURG, Va. – No. 40 ranked Virginia Tech men’s tennis team will play host to No. 66 Minnesota on Saturday, March 3 at Noon. On Sunday, March 4, the Hokies will welcome St. Bonaventure at 10 a.m. and James Madison at 4 p.m. to the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

The Hokies (4-3) are coming off a weekend split the last time out. Tech defeated No. 39 Maryland 4-3 before falling to No. 3 Virginia 6-1. Corrado Degl' Incerti Tocci picked up the point for the Hokies against UVa, winning in the No. 5 singles. He also paired up with partner Luka Somen as the No. 44 duo upset No. 12 ranked Drew Courtney and Jarmere Jenkins. Tocci also had a key point in the win over Maryland. His performance in the two-match span earned him ACC Player of the Week honors.

Tech also had wins against the Terps from No. 90 Lucas Oliveira (No. 2), Patrick Daciek (No. 3) and the clinching point from Trpimir Kujundzic in the No. 6. Somen is currently ranked No. 68 in the latest ITA singles standings.

Minnesota (4-3) claimed a 6-1 win over Wisconsin the last time out. Picking up points for the Gophers was No. 112 Leandro Toledo, Rok Bonin, Julian Dehn, Jack Hamburg and Juan Pablo Ramirez. The Gophers also claimed the doubles point, winning all three matches. The duo of Bonin and Dehn are No. 50 in the ITA doubles rankings.

St. Bonaventure (1-5) picked up its first win of the season in the team’s last match, defeating Bucknell, 4-3. The Bonnies claimed the doubles point and had wins from Oscar Yanez, Luis Guevara and Elliot Fanshell in singles.

James Madison (3-2) defeated East Carolina, 4-2 the last time out. The Dukes took the doubles point early and won three singles matches for the win. Greg Vladimirsky, Ryan Pool and Florent Sentenac took the points needed for JMU.

The Hokies will travel to the west coast next week to play No. 1 Southern California on Friday, March 9 at 3 p.m. ET.
