BLACKSBURG, Va. – No. 32 Virginia Tech men’s tennis team will travel to University Park, Pa. to face Penn State on Saturday, Feb. 4. The match is slated for a 12 p.m. start at the Sarni Tennis Center.
Tech (1-1) is coming off the ITA Kickoff Weekend where the Hokies split decisions. Men’s tennis defeated No. 39 Nebraska on the opening day, but fell to No. 4 Georgia on the second day of competition. No. 50 Luka Somen, Patrick Daciek, Mauricio Antun and Corrado Degl’ Incerti Tocci all picked up singles wins for the Hokies over the weekend. The Hokies doubles line-up is led by the No. 51 tandem of Tocci and Somen.
The Nittany Lions (3-1) defeated No. 63 Princeton the last time out. PSU dropped the doubles point, but picked up four wins in singles as No. 80 Tomas Hanzlik, Russell Bader, Taylor Cohen and Christopher Hasyn secured wins.
Following Tech’s match against Penn State, the Hokies will remain on the road for a trip to Boston where they will face Harvard on Saturday, Feb. 11 followed by the ACC opener at Boston College on Sunday, Feb. 12.
