CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia Tech’s No. 25 Luka Somen picked up a third place finish in singles on Sunday during the final day of the UVA Ranked+1 Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
Somen defeated No. 99 Jesus Bandres of ETSU in straight sets with scores of 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles, Somen paired up with teammate Corrado Degl’ Incerti Tocci in the third place match of the white draw. The No. 27 ranked Tech duo fell to No. 12 Drew Courtney and Steven Rooda of UVA, 8-6.
Next up for the Hokies is the ITA All-American Championships, Oct. 3-9 in Tulsa, Okla.
