Tech claims flight title at UNCG Invite
Mauricio Antun won in singles to claim the Flight A1 title

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Mauricio Antun claimed the flight title for the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team on Sunday at the UNCG Invite in Greensboro, N.C.

Antun defeated UNC Asheville’s Adrien Langeard, 7-5, 6-3 in the singles flight A1 championship match.

In singles flight A2, Zachary Pine claimed a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Chanon Varapongsittikul of UNC Greensboro for a third place finish in the flight.

VT's Kevin Castellow battled in a three set match in the singles flight A3 finals, facing UNCA's Tom Rees. The two played a close first set with Rees edging Castellow, 7-6(4). In the second set, Castellow came back for a 6-2 win, but Rees took the final set, 6-3 for the win.

The Hokies will be back on the court Sept. 16-18 at the Nike Fab Four in Cary, N.C.
