BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team will look to extend a four-match winning streak this weekend at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The Hokies will play host to Boston College on Sat., Feb. 26 (10:30 a.m.) followed by a Sun., Feb. 27 contest versus Brown (1 p.m.).
Virginia Tech (7-4), ranked No. 30 in this week’s ITA national poll, extended its current winning streak to four matches with victories last weekend at home over James Madison (7-0), St. Bonaventure (7-0) and No. 72 Penn State (4-3). Tech is led by Luka Somen (Jr., Karlovac, Croatia), ranked No. 39 nationally, who has won six straight matches and nine of his last 10.
Boston College (4-5, 0-1) dropped a 5-2 decision to Dartmouth last weekend in the ECAC Tournament and will play Maryland prior to taking on the Hokies. Tech is 5-0 against the Eagles since joining the ACC including a 7-0 win last year in Weymouth, Mass.
Brown (6-1) upset then-No. 45 Columbia, 5-2, last Sunday in the Bears’ last outing.
