Tech heads south for Crimson Tide Invitational
Eight Hokies scheduled to participate in tournament

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Eight members of the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team will participate this weekend in the Crimson Tide Fall Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The tournament includes players from 25 schools and is hosted by the University of Alabama. Matches will be played at the University of Alabama Tennis Stadium, the Alabama Recreation Courts and the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.

The 25 institutions represented at this year’s Fall Championships are Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Chattanooga, Georgia State, Illinois, Indiana, Liberty, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Radford, Savannah College of Art & Design, Southern Mississippi, Stillman, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Troy, Tulane, UAB, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and West Alabama.

Tech players in the event include: Patrick Daciek, Trpimir Kujundzic, Adam Lawton, Leonardo Lapentti, Lucas Oliveira, Jonathan Pine, Zachary Pine and Luka Somen.

Play begins Friday morning at 9 a.m. CT with the opening round of singles and will continue throughout the day.
