BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Virginia Tech and Boise State will not only face each other this weekend on the gridiron, but will also meet on the tennis court. Several members of the Hokies and Broncos men’s tennis teams will open the fall season by traveling to the nation’s capital over the Labor Day holiday weekend to participate in the D.C. Invitational. The collegiate fall schedule includes a series of tournaments for individuals only with no team scoring.
The tournament format will include two flights of singles and one flight of doubles and will be played at two sites over two days. Sunday’s action will take place at the Columbia Country Club and is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Monday matches will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be played at Woodmont Country Club.
Tech fans in town for the Boise State game are encouraged to attend the matches. Information concerning the two sites, including directions, may be accessed at the following:
