Hokies conclude competition at D'Novo All-American
Tech players eliminated in consolation brackets

TULSA, Okla. -- Virginia Tech’s participation in the D’Novo All-American Men’s Tennis Championships came to end Friday as the Hokies lost consolation matches in singles and doubles. The tournament, featuring the top collegiate players in the nation, is being played at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Yoann Re (Sr., Verdun, Quebec, Canada), ranked No. 35 nationally in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason fall ranking, dropped his consolation singles match, 6-3, 6-3, Friday afternoon against Robin Fahen (Southern Methodist). Re had dropped his main draw singles match late Thursday evening, 6-3, 6-3, to Jeff Dadamo (Texas A&M).

The Tech doubles combo of Patrick Daciek (So., Serverna Park, Md.)/Re, who won three qualifying matches earlier in the week before being eliminated in the opening round of the main draw, lost their consolation match, 8-5, versus Vicente Joli/James Meredith (Boise State).

The Hokies return to action, Oct. 22-26, when several members of the team will travel to Norfolk, Va. to participate in the ITA Atlantic Regional.
