Three Hokies named to ACC Men's Tennis All-Academic team
Graber, Re and Somen receive conference honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech men’s tennis players Pedro Graber, Yoann Re and Luka Somen have been named to the 2009 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team, as announced today by Commissioner John D. Swofford.
Candidates for the awards must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average for their career as well as a 3.0 for each of the last two semesters.

The ACC Men’s Tennis All-Academic Team includes 10 repeat selections from 2008 and one four-time selection in Duke’s Kiril Dimitrov. Four ITA All-Americans – Virginia’s Inglot and Sanam Singh, Georgia Tech’s Guillermo Gomez and NC State’s Jay Weinacker – earned All-Academic recognition as well.

Seven student-athletes earning All-ACC Academic honors were also All-ACC selections: Duke’s Dimitrov, Georgia Tech’s Gomez, NC State’s Weinacker, Virginia’s Inglot, Singh and Houston Barrick, and Virginia Tech’s Yoann Re. ACC Freshman of the Year Luke Somen of Virginia Tech also earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic team.
