BLACKSBURG, Va. --- The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team will host two matches on Friday and Saturday including the ACC opener against Boston College. The Hokies and Eagles will play Friday at 4 p.m. while the match against the Bears will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.
Both contests will be played at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on the Virginia Tech campus and admission is free. The contests will also be available on the internet via ACC Select.
Virginia Tech (4-1), ranked No. 32 in this week’s ITA national poll, rolled to easy victories last weekend against College of Charleston (7-0) and St. Bonaventure (6-1).
Boston College (6-1) had a six-match winning streak snapped on Sunday falling 5-0 to Columbia a the ECAC Team Indoors hosted by Harvard. The Eagles defeated Princeton (5-2) and Yale (4-3) in the first two rounds of the event. Tech defeated Boston College, 5-2, last year in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Brown (8-2) took third place on Monday at the ECAC event with a 6-0 win over Penn.
Last year in Providence, R.I., the Hokies defeated the Bears, 5-2.
Following this weekend’s contests, the Hokies will travel to Charlottesville, Va. on Fri., Feb. 27, to battle No. 2 Virginia at 6 p.m.
