GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech’s Yoann Re has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week after posting a win over a top-10 ranked opponent during the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Kickoff Weekend.
Re, a junior from Quebec, Canada, won both of his singles and doubles matches in Columbus, Ohio, en route to the Men’s Player of the Week honor. Re upset No. 6 Justin Kronauge of Ohio State 6-2, 6-4 in No. 2 singles after teaming with Patrick Daciek to upset the Buckeyes 41st-ranked doubles team.
Re was solid against New Mexico in the first round, easily winning both his singles and doubles matches. Re topped Miles Bugby 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3 in that singles match.
