Acuna tabbed as ACC Offensive Player of the Week
Senior picks up first conference honor of the season

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech forward Marcelo Acuna was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals and leading the Hokies to a pair of victories.
On Tuesday, the San Jose, Costa Rica native got the Hokies on the board with a penalty kick against Davidson. Tech went on to win 2-1.
Friday night, Acuna scored twice including a fantastic curled effort to the far post to lead the Hokies to a 2-1 victory over No. 1 and previously unbeaten Notre Dame.
Acuna’s six goals lead the Hokies and is good for tied for third in the conference.
The Hokies will take a break from ACC action Tuesday night when they play host to the Longwood Lancers from the Big South at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
