BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech men’s soccer is set to take on the Davidson Wildcats of the Atlantic 10 on Tuesday night at Thompson Field. The game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra at 7 p.m.
Last time on the pitch, Tech lost a close contest to 12th ranked Virginia 2-1. Tech had more meaningful possession, shots and corners, but Edward Opuku’s two goals were enough to earn the result. Collin Verfurth was on the score sheet once again with his third goal of the season, tied for the team’s best with Marcelo Acuna.
Davidson (5-0-1) comes into the match after a 3-0 win over Wofford on Friday night. Goals by Jaylen Thompson, Quinn Dudek and Ned Morrissett lifted the Wildcats to their best start since the 2014 season.
The Wildcats are led in front of goal by Morrissett and Coleman Richards who each have two goals and an assist. In goal, Sam Bissett (3-0-1) and Sawyer Gafney (2-0-0) have combined for a 0.80 goals against average.

The Hokies will play No. 2 Notre Dame on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. The game will be available on ACC Network Extra. The matchup will be the eight meeting in series history with the Hokies’ record being 0-6-1.
