Acuna tabbed for MAC Hermann Watch List

BLACKSBURG – Marcelo Acuna has been named to the MAC Hermann Award Watch List for the upcoming 2017 season. The Hermann Award is presented by the Missouri Athletic Club annually to the top male and female collegiate soccer players in the country.

Acuna started all 22 games for the Hokies in 2016, a key part of Tech’s successful run in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in nearly a decade. The San Jose, Costa Rica native scored 11 goals including five game-winners in 2016 earning him Second Team All-ACC and NSCAA All-America Third Team honors.

  • Aug. 8 Watch List announced
  • ​Nov. 29 Semifinalists (15) announced and voting opens
  • Dec. 7 Voting closes
  • Dec. 8 Finalists (3) announced
  • Jan. 5 Winner announced at Missouri Athletic Club banquet in St. Louis, Mo.
