WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team (13-5-4) fell 0-2 to Wake Forest (18-2-3) on Saturday night in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. The Deacons were successful in the last ten minutes, sending them to Houston.
The first forty-five in Winston Salem was a battle of the midfielders as the ball traveled back and forth. The Hokies saw two dangerous chances but were not able to finish. Ben Lundgaard put up five saves to keep the Deacons off the board as they applied pressure towards the end of the half.

The Deacons were able to get on the board first with ten minutes left in regulation. Ema Twumasi was able to get past Lundgaard with a high left shot.
