Acuna named to the All-ACC Second Team
Atlantic Coast Conference announced accolades Tuesday

BLACKSBURG- The 2016 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Team was announced on Tuesday. Junior Marcelo Acuna was named to the All-ACC Second Team, as voted on by the leagues’ coaches.
Acuna currently leads the ranked Hokie squad in points, shots, goals and game winning goals. The junior has accumulated 20 points off nine goals and two assists. He scored the game winning goals against No. 18 Ohio State, Oakland, South Florida, NC State and VMI.
The transfer student has been a real spark for the Virginia Tech offense this year helping the team go 10-4-4 and 3-4-1 in conference play.
Acuna is ninth in the country for game winning goals with five, third in the country for shots per game with 4.50, 11th in the country for shots on goal per game with 1.94 and 40th in the country for total goals with nine.
The Costa Rican native leads the ACC in shots and shots per game. He is tied for second for game-winning goals and third for total goals.
