Hokies look to get back on track at home against Davidson
Tech closes non-conference slate
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team will look to get back on track on Tuesday night when the Hokies play host to the Davidson Wildcats at Thompson Field.

Davidson comes into the match with a 7-2-3 record overall most recently falling to George Mason 2-1 last Saturday.

The Wildcats are led by Alan Reiter, who leads the team in points with 12 on the strength of five goals and two assists. Maxi Pragnell is next for Davidson with eight points (three goals, two assists). Eleven different players have scored goals for the Wildcats this season.

Matt Pacifici has started all 12 matches in goal for Davidson, sporting a 0.92 goals against average, 42 saves and a .792 save percentage. Pacifici has ntched four shutouts on the year.

The Hokies come into the match with a 7-6-1 record and a 2-4-1 mark in ACC play. Sophomore Som Essome (three goals, five assists) and freshman Ricardo John (five goals, one assist) lead Tech with 11 points. Freshman Merlin Baus has also contributed eight points (three goals, two assists).

Freshman goalkeeper Ben Lundgaard has started and played in 10 matches for the Hokies this season. Lundgaard boasts 49 total saves, a 1.15 save percentage and a .803 save percentage.
