Tech set to take on VMI at home Tuesday
Hokies look to continue win streak

BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men's soccer team will look to continue its win streak on Tuesday when VMI comes to Thompson Field for a non conference matchup.

The Keydets are 1-6-1 on the season only beating UNC Asheville and posting a tie against Howard. Most recently, VMI lost to Mercer in their first conference match of the season. The Keydets have only scored three goals this season, and those three goals have come from three different players. Zach Kapplan and Alex Guerra have split ime in goal this year. The two have combined for 48 saves, a 2.68 goals against average and a .686 save percentage.

The Hokies come into the match on a four-game win streak most recently beating NC State 3-2 on the road in conference play. Tech is led by freshman Ricardo John who leads the squad with nine points (four goals, one assist). Sophomore Som Essome is not far behind with eight points (one goal, four assists).

Freshman Ben Lundgaard and senior Ben Lockler have split time in goal this season. The two combine for 43 saves, a .815 save percentage and a 1.10 goals against average.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. Live stats and a free live stream via HokiesXtra are available for the match. The match will also serve as Youth Team and Hokies Kids' Club Night.
