GREENSBORO, N.C. – In a poll of the league’s 12 head coaches, the Virginia Tech men’s soccer team was picked to finish fifth in the Coastal Division as announced by the ACC office on Tuesday afternoon.

With the recent ACC expansion, the league is now split up into two divisions, the Coastal Division and the Atlantic Division. Each team will play every team in its division and will play a few crossover games as well. The tournament will also take a different format, as 10 total teams will qualify for the tournament.

The Hokies have almost an entirely new squad from last year’s as the team consists of 18 newcomers, 14 of which are true freshmen. Tech returns nine players from last season, six of which are letter winners.

Tech will play exhibition matches tonight against Wright State at 6 p.m. and Saturday against ETSU at 7 p.m. The Hokies will then take to the road on Aug. 29 when they take on SIUE in Edwardsville, Illinois in their season opener at 7 p.m.
