BLACKSBURG, Va. – Head coach Mike Brizendine has announced a six-game spring schedule for the Virginia Tech men’s soccer team including tilts against the Atlantic Sun Conference champion and the Conference USA champion.
The Hokies begin their offseason schedule when they take to the road to participate in the ACC Showcase in Greensboro, N.C. on March 29 against UNC Wilmington at 1 p.m. The Seahawks finished with a 9-6-2 record including marquis wins over Ohio State, Cincinnati, Duke, and North Carolina.
The team will then travel to Charlotte, N.C. on April 5 to take on Conference USA champion UNC Charlotte at 2 p.m. The 49ers posted a 12-6-3 record on the year and fell to Coastal Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Just a week later on April 12, the Hokies will play host for a pair of games against Louisburg College and Tusculum. Louisburg finished with a 12-7-1 record lasts season while Tusculum finished with a 6-10 record.
Next up for the Hokies is a home against in-state foe Liberty on April 15 at 7 p.m. The Flames finished with an 11-9 record and earned their way into the Big South Conference finals after beating High Point and Longwood en route to the championship match before falling to Coastal Carolina.
Finally, Tech will travel to Johnson City, Tenn. on April 25 to take on reigning Atlantic Sun Champion ETSU. The Buccaneers picked up wins against Kentucky and UAB last season and fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Coastal Carolina.
Each home contest for the Hokies is free to the public.
