Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team will look to get back to winning ways when they take on Pittsburgh in an ACC matchup on Tuesday night.
The Hokies are an even 3-3-3 on the season thus far and boast a 1-1-3 mark in ACC play while Pittsburgh sits with a 0-6-2 record overall and a 0-5 mark in ACC contests.
The Hokies are led by seniors Robert Alberti and goalkeeper Kyle Renfro. Alberti leads the team in points with 10 on the strength of four goals and two assists. Renfro has amassed an impressive 44 saves this season, good enough for second in the ACC, and comes into the match with a .800 save percentage.
The Pittsburgh Panthers are coming off of a 5-0 loss to Virginia and have only scored four goals so far this season. Sophomore Ryan Meyers leads the Panthers in points with four on the strength of one goal and two assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Dan Lynd currently leads the ACC in saves with 45 and in saves per game with 5.62.
