Hokies prepped to take on No. 16 Clemson in ACC match
Tech currently tied for fourth in ACC standings

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s soccer team will play host to the No. 16 Clemson Tigers on Friday night in an ACC battle.

The Hokies, tied for fourth in the ACC standings, enter Friday’s match on the heels of a 2-0 loss to Navy on Tuesday night. Senior goalkeeper Kyle Renfro made four saves in the match.

Senior Robert Alberti paces the Hokies on the strength of four goals and two assists while sophomore Daniel Lauretano has scored twice for Tech this season.

Clemson (7-1-0, 2-1-0 ACC) comes into the match fresh off of a 2-0 win over USC Upstate on Tuesday.

Clemson is currently in third place in the ACC standings. Thomas McNamara leads the Tigers with five goals and four assists this season while junior Ara Amirkhanian has posted four goals and one assist and junior Manolo Sanchez has registered three goals and two assists.

Clemson has played two goalkeepers this season. Andrew Tarbell and Chris Lodack have a combined 0.49 goals against average and a combined .852 save percentage.
