Marshall claims Co-ACC Player of the Week honors
Sophomore honored for the first time

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore forward Kai Marshall has been tabbed as Co-ACC Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday for his efforts in the Hokies’ 2-1 victory over No. 17 Syracuse.

After sitting out the season’s first two contests due to a hip flexor injury, Marshall worked his way into the fold for Tech. The Charlottesville, Va. native netted the game-winning goal in the eight minute of overtime to secure the Hokies’ first ACC regular season win since 2011.

The game-winner against Syracuse was the third goal of Marshall’s young career.

Along with Marshall, Clemson’s Thomas McNamara also earned Co-ACC Player of the Week honors.

Marshall and the Hokies travel to Durham, N.C. this Friday to take on the Duke Blue Devils in the team’s second ACC contest of the season. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
