Virginia Tech Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach Patrick McSorley will be inducted Thursday into the James Madison University Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the 2010 inductee class.  McSorley played at JMU from 1992-1995, then served as an assistant coach and associate head coach for six years.

During his four years at JMU, McSorley helped lead the Dukes to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including the NCAA Quarterfinals his junior and senior years.  He led JMU to a 73-14-6 record during his four years as a player, as well as three CAA titles.  He set a single-season scoring record for a freshman, netting ten goals his first season, including three in his first game ever, a 4-0 upset over then No. 6 Wake Forest.  He still owns career school records in goals (42) and points (103) and ranks 14th in school history with 19 career assists.

McSorley and the rest of the 2010 class will be inducted on Thursday, Oct. 14 at the 23rd Annual JMU Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet.  Full information on the event, the Hall of Fame and the other inductees can be found on JMU’s website, www.jmusports.com.
