July 11, 2017
For the second time in as many weeks, Virginia Tech golfer Sarit Suwannarut was the low amateur at an event on the All Thailand professional golf tour. The Singha Classic was played July 6-9 at the Royal Hills Golf Resort & Spa in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand.
Suawannarut, a rising sophomore from Bangkok, Thailand, posted a 10-under par total of 274. He not only captured low amateur honors, but he finished fifth overall, six shots behind the winning professional. He was the leader of the tournament following the second round on Friday. Last summer, before arriving at Virginia Tech, Suwannarut won the 2016 ASEAN PGA Tour Singha Pattaya Open in his native Thailand.
