MEADOWS OF DAN, Va. – Adverse weather conditions in southern Virginia have caused the cancellation of the 2016 Primland Invitational. The event was originally scheduled for the Primland Resort in Meadows of Dan, Virginia for Monday and Tuesday.
Both Monday rounds were cancelled due to rain and fog in the area. Tournament officials reworked the event to a one round tournament to begin Tuesday morning. Six individuals, none of which are Virginia Tech golfers, were able to post scores on the first round before the fog and rain returned and forced the cancellation. The event will not be rescheduled.
The Hokies will return to action on Oct. 14-16, as they compete in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club in Johnson City, Tennessee.
