NEW LONDON, N.C. – Virginia Tech shot a three-round total of 26-over 890 and finished in 11^th place at the 63^rd ACC Men’s Golf Championship on Sunday afternoon. The three-day event was played at the 7,102-yard, par 72 Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point in New London, North Carolina.

Joey Lane, a junior from Great Falls, Virginia, fired a 5-under 67 on Sunday and finished tied for seventh place individually. His round of 67, a personal–best at the ACC Championship, featured five birdies and no bogeys. Combined over his final two rounds, Lane carded seven birdies and one bogey. Lane was tied for 25^th individually entering Sunday’s final round. This marks the fifth consecutive season that a Virginia Tech golfer finished in the top 10 individually at the ACC Championship.

Lane finished with a 4-under 212, six strokes behind Robin Sciot-Siegrist. Sciot-Siegrist successfully defended his 2015 ACC Co-Championship, which he shared with Trevor Cone of Virginia Tech and Anders Albertson on Georgia Tech.

The Hokies shot a 304 on Friday and a 300 on Saturday. Tech posted a 2-under 286 in Sunday’s final round, one of five sub-par rounds on the day.

Blake Fiest, a freshman from Huntersville, North Carolina, shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday and finished tied for 42^nd place at 224. Maclain Huge, a senior from Lovettesville, Virginia and Drew Johnson, a junior from Oak Ridge, North Carolina, tied for 51^st place at 228 and Ryan Mondy, a junior from Blacksburg, Virginia, finished in 56^th place at 234.

Clemson won the team title with a 25-under 839, 11 strokes ahead of runner-up Wake Forest and 20 strokes ahead of Florida State. Georgia Tech was fourth at 864, Duke was fifth at 865, Louisville was sixth at 866 and NC State was seventh at 869. Virginia and North Carolina tied for eighth at 870 and Notre Dame was 10^th at 883, seven strokes ahead of the Hokies. Boston College finished 12^th at 901.
