Vincent named to Golf World Watch List
Hokie junior one of the nation’s Top 50 players

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Virginia Tech golfer Scott Vincent has been named to Golf World magazine’s top 50 male players to watch for the 2013-14 academic year.

Vincent, a junior from Harare, Zimbabwe, led the Hokies in scoring last season with a 71.66 stroke average and “Crunch Time” average of 71.91. He finished in the top 20 in nine of the 11 events in which he competed, including five top five finishes. He missed one Virginia Tech event in the fall to compete for his native Zimbabwe in the World Amateur Team Championship in Turkey. Vincent helped lead Zimbabwe to a 17th place finish and Vincent was 32nd individually.

The results, online now at http://golfdig.st/1dTs7rA, will appear in the September 2, 2013 issue of Golf World.

Golf World’s senior writer & Campus Insider Ryan Herrington ranked the players for the publication. Ten players were ranked and the other 40, including Vincent, were listed alphabetically. Vincent is one of four Atlantic Coast Conference players listed among the top 50. All four ACC players are juniors.

The Hokies begin play this season on Sept. 15, as they represent the ACC in the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Spirit Hollow Golf Club in Burlington, Iowa.
