"It is an honor to represent Virginia Tech in the NCAA Championship and we are excited to be playing in the South Central Regional at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky," head coach Jay Hardwick said. "The fact that we have received an at-large bid for the sixth straight year is a testament to where our program has come in recent years. It is also a tribute to the strength of golf in the ACC that eight of the 11 teams were selected for post-season play."

Virginia Tech finished in the top 10 of 10 of its 11 events this season, including five top five finishes. The Hokies enter the regionals ranked 46th nationally by Golfstat.com and 50th nationally by the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.

Virginia Tech is one of eight Atlantic Coast Conference teams in the regionals and one of two ACC teams competing at Bowling Green, along with Clemson. Tech and the Tigers tied for fourth in the 2012 ACC Men’s Golf Championship in April.
