JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Virginia Tech golf team has a two round total of 617 and in 14th place at the 14th annual Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club. The three-day tournament is being played at the par-72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club at The Ridges golf course. Tech shot 310 on Friday and improved to 307 on Saturday.

Freshman Trevor Cone (Concord, N.C.) is at 146 and is tied for sixth place, after an even par 72 on Saturday. Cone is six strokes behind leader Mark McMillen of NC State.

Junior Mikey Moyers Stanardsville, Va.) and sophomore Bryce Chalkley (Richmond, Va.) are at 157 and are tied for 59th place. Freshman Scott Vincent (Harare, Zimbabwe) and redshirt sophomore Jacob Everts (Ooltewah, Tenn.) are at 162 and are tied for 72nd. Freshman Miles Curley (Rock Hill, S.C.) is playing the event as an individual. He is at 161 and is tied for 70th place.

NC State leads the event at 583, one stroke ahead of Virginia. Memphis is third at 587, Wake Forest is fourth at 590, Kent State is fifth at 591 and Clemson is sixth at 594. Missouri is seventh at 595, Tennessee is eighth at 602, UNC Wilmington is ninth at 602 and host East Tennessee State is 10th at 603. Villanova is 11th at 608, Toledo is 12th at 609 and Louisville is 13th at 612, five strokes ahead of the Hokies. Army is 15th at 634.

Scores have been elevated in the first two rounds due to windy conditions. Only four rounds under-par were recorded on Friday, a number that improved to 11 rounds on Saturday. The final round will be played on Sunday.
