Two Hokie golfers earn All-State honors
Bailey named to the first team, Redmond a second-team selection.

BLACKSBURG, VA. - Virginia Tech golfers Marshall Bailey and Blake Redmond have been selected to the 2011 Virginia State Collegiate Golf Coaches Association All-State team, as announced today.

Bailey, a senior from Fincastle, Virginia, was selected to the first team this season. He was a second-team selection as a junior last year. He led the team in scoring with a 72.52 stroke average and posted six top 20 finishes, including two top five finishes.

Redmond, a junior from Sugar Land, Texas, was selected to the second team. He was second on the team in scoring average this season, with a 72.82 stroke average. Redmond posted four top 20 finishes, including one top ten and one top five finish. He was the low scorer for the Hokies in both the ACC Championship and the NCAA Virginia Tech Regional this season.

Liberty’s Jeff Thomas was named the Coach of the Year in 2011 by the VCGCA.
