Virginia Tech rising junior Scott Vincent finished in third place at the Rice Planters Amateur at the Snee Farm Country Club in Mount Pleasant, S.C. on Saturday. Rice Planters is traditionally one of the top amateur competitions on the East Coast each summer.

Vincent, of Harare, Zimbabwe, shot an 11-under-par 205, one stroke behind Maverick Antcliff of Augusta State and Austin Cody of Duke. Antcliff defeated Cody in a 6-hole playoff on Saturday afternoon to claim the title. Vincent shot rounds of 71-67-67 in the event, which was shortened to 54 holes due to weather issues.

Bryce Chalkley, a rising senior from Richmond, Va., and Trevor Cone, a rising junior from Concord, N.C., finished tied for sixth place with scores of 209.

Drew Johnson of Oak Ridge, N.C., and Ryan Mondy of Blacksburg, Va., who will each be entering Virginia Tech this fall, each shot even-par 216 and tied for 30^th place. Rising sophomore Maclain Huge of Lovettesville, Va., competed in the event, but missed the cut.
