Incoming Virginia Tech golfer Bryce Chalkley shot
a final round two-over-par 73 and tied second place with a three-round total of
207 at the 58th Virginia State Golf Association Junior Amateur Championship at
the Roanoke Country Club in Roanoke on Thursday afternoon.
Chalkley posted a seven-under-par 64 on
Tuesday and a one-under 70 on Wednesday, before shooting 73 in the final round.
The rising freshman from Richmond was the first round leader. He tied Jack
Adkins of Martinsville for second place, five strokes behind Jake Mondy of
Blacksburg, who was tied with Chalkley entering the final round. Mondy shot three-under-par
68 on Thursday for a three-round total of 202.
