The Hokies completed the 2017-18 season 21-12 overall and was 10-8 in ACC regular season action .
Outlaw Gets Sixth Year
Ty Outlaw has been granted a sixth year of competition by the NCAA … The wing from Roxboro, North Carolina missed the 2017-18 season following surgery on a torn ACL in his right knee … He missed the 2015-16 season with a heart ailment.
5 is Honored
Justin Robinson was named to the All-ACC second team, in voting by a panel of coaches, media and radio broadcasters … Robinson led the Hokies in scoring with 14.0 points per game, increased to 16.2 points per game in ACC action … He also led the team in assists with 185 and steals with 41 … Robinson was also named All-ACC second team in a vote by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association … Robinson also made the USBWA’s All-District 3 team and was a second team All-District selection by the NABC.
Up the List
In the Hokies’ win at Boston College last season, Justin Bibbs scored his 1,000th career point, becoming the 46th Hokie to reach that plateau … He finished his Virginia Tech career with 1,457 points, 17th on the list … His career 42.4 percent from three-point range set a new Virginia Tech record.
More Climbing
Justin Bibbs scored 771 points in ACC regular season action in his Virginia Tech career … That total is sixth-best in school history, trailing fifth place Jeff Allen by 47 points … Malcolm Delaney is the all-time leader for Tech, with 1,137 career points in regular season ACC competition … Justin Robinson is eighth on the list at 614 points.
Milestones
In the loss to Louisville, Ahmed Hill became the 47th player in Virginia Tech history to record 1,000 career points … Also in the game, Justin Bibbs became the 20th player in school history to record 1,400 career points … In the win over No. 5 Duke, Justin Robinson scored his 1,000th career point.
Devin Makes the Team
Devin Wilson was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Men’s Basketball team … To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career … The redshirt senior from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania completed his degree in political science last year and is working towards a second degree.
