Hokies face Notre Dame in ACC Tournament

The Virginia Tech men's basketball team will face Notre Dame on Wednesday night, March 7 at 7 p.m. in the second round of the 2018 New York Life ACC Tournament. The game, to be played in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, will be televised by ESPN2 and The ACC Network and is also available on the ESPN app.

TONIGHT’S GAME
The Hokies enter the game 21-10 overall and was 10-8 in ACC play. Notre Dame is 19-13 overall and was 8-10 in league play. Notre Dame defeated Pittsburgh, 67-64, Tuesday afternoon in the first round of the ACC Tournament.

THE SERIES
Tech is 2-7 all-time against the Fighting Irish. Tech defeated Notre Dame, 80-75, in South Bend on Jan. 27 this season. Tech’s only other victory over the Irish came in the five boroughs of New York City, as the Hokies defeated Notre Dame, 92-91, in Madison Square Garden to win the 1973 NIT. Tech is 1-3 against Notre Dame under Buzz Williams.

The winner of tonight’s game will face second-seed Duke at 7 p.m. in a quarterfinal game in the ACC Tournament. Tip is at 7 p.m. and the game will be shown live on ESPN and the ACC Network, along with the ESPN app.
