Monday night’s game will be the Hokies’ Suits & Sneakers game. Suits & Sneakers Week (Jan. 22-28, 2018) is a nationwide event that unites coaches across the country to raise funds and awareness about the fight against cancer, and promotes the American Cancer Society as a source of inspiration and hope for those facing cancer.
Monday night’s game will be the Hokies’ Black Out Effect game. Fans encouraged to wear black and “Defend the Burg”.
Hokie Lights returns! Fans can help with a pregame light show via cell phone during Virginia Tech’s intro video. This year’s Hokie Lights, presented by Cox Communications, feature will be for UNC and Duke – both Big Monday games.
We will recognize Frank Beamer at the first media time out of the game and honor his College Football Hall of Fame induction, which will officially occur later this year.
Also, Joey Slye will be presented with an award from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for his fundraising efforts from this past year. Joey and his family raised over $70,000 in remembrance of his brother AJ’s courageous battle with leukemia.
