Josh Chambers promoted to Director of Recruiting Operations
New title better reflects duties in ever-changing world of recruiting

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech head men’s basketball coach Buzz Williams has announced the promotion of Josh Chambers to Director of Recruiting Operations.
Chambers just completed his first season as a full-time employee of the Hokies, but is no stranger to the program. He was hired last summer as the program’s graphic designer, but took on more and more responsibilities as the season progressed. He works closely with the staff, planning and executing material for all aspects of the recruiting process.
"As the landscape of athletics continues to change, it is imperative that we do our best to stay ahead of those changes,” Williams said. “Josh has the most unique skill set of anyone on our staff, and it allows him to have a role in almost every category of all that we are doing. Over the past year with us, his role has morphed in a variety of ways we didn’t anticipate, mostly because of his talent, but also because of our staff's desire to know what the next change would be in the landscape of what we are trying to accomplish. He has been critically important to executing those changes, and I wanted to make sure his title was reflective of that."
The 2015 Virginia Tech graduate got his start as a student manager for the Hokies prior to his graduation and then spent a season working for Basketball Hall of Famer George Raveling, Nike’s director of international basketball. Chambers also began his Won’t Lose Designs, working with college teams and amateur programs, as well as several NBA players.
