Hokies to host NCAA Selection Show watch party

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team will host an NCAA Selection Show watch party on March 12, in Cassell Coliseum. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the CBS show begins at 5:30 p.m.

Fans are invited to join the team and staff in Cassell to enjoy the experience of the Hokies being invited to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament for the first time since 2007. Admission is free and there will be a wide variety of events schedule around the show to help celebrate the season for the Hokies. The first 1,000 fans can receive a free t-shirt.

Free pizza will be available and concession stands will be open for the public. A video honoring the team in the 2016-17 season will be shown on the video board, along with a “Thank You” video to the Hokie Nation. There will be music and other entertainment in the arena. Spirit squads will perform

The in-house program will begin at 5 p.m. and a special broadcast of Tech Talk Live will take place from the arena following the selection show. Fans are encouraged to stick around and join Jon Laaser and Mike Burnop in the show, which will feature head coach Buzz Williams and members of the team, staff and administration.

There will be drawings for special prizes and a t-shirt toss, as well. The CBS show will be shown live on both video boards, as well as other TVs throughout Cassell Coliseum.
