The Virginia Tech men's basketball team travels to Coral Gables on Wednesday, Feb. 8 to take on Miami at 9 p.m. The game will be shown on regional sports networks.

THE HOKIES (16-6, 5-5)
The Hokies enter the game 16-6 overall and 5-5 in ACC action. Tech lost at No. 9/11 Virginia, 71-48, last Wednesday night. Seth Allen led the Hokies with 14 points and Zach LeDay added 12 points off the bench.
THE HURRICANES (15-7, 5-5)
Miami enters the game 15-5 overall and 5-5 in league play. The Hurricanes won at NC State, 84-79, on Saturday in PNC Arena. Davon Reed leads the Canes in scoring at 15.8 points per game and Ja’Quan Newton is averaging 15.0 points per game. Miami is coached by Jim Larrañaga, in his sixth season at Miami.
THE SERIES
This is the 33rd all-time meeting between the two schools. The Hurricanes lead the series, 19-13. Miami won two of the three meetings last season. Each team won on their home court and Miami defeated Virginia Tech, 88-82, in the quarterfinal of the 2016 ACC Tournament.
