THE HOKIES (16-5, 5-4)
The Hokies enter the game 16-5 overall and 5-4 in ACC action. Tech defeated Boston College, 85-79, Sunday night in Cassell Coliseum. Seth Allen and Justin Bibbs scored 18 points each and Zach LeDay added 17 points off the bench in the win.

THE CAVALIERS (16-4, 6-2)
Virginia enters the game 16-4 overall and 6-2 in league play. The Cavaliers lost to Villanova, 61-59, in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. London Perrantes leads the Cavaliers in scoring at 11.9 points per game and Marial Shayok is averaging 10.2 points per game. Virginia is coached by Tony Bennett, in his eighth season at UVa. Virginia is ranked ninth in the AP poll and 11th in the USA Today coaches poll.

THE SERIES
This is the 144th all-time meeting between the two schools. The Cavaliers lead the series, 89-54. The two teams split the series last season, with each team winning at home. The Hokies defeated No. 4 UVa, 70-68, in Cassell Coliseum on Jan. 4 and No. 7 Virginia downed the Hokies, 67-49, Feb. 9. This game, the first of two regular season meetings between the two schools, is part of the Virginia 529 Commonwealth Clash, which the Cavaliers lead, 5-4.5.

Up Next: The Hokies take the weekend off before continuing on the road, as they travel to Coral Gables next Wednesday to take on Miami at 9 p.m. The game will be shown on regional sports networks and heard on the Virginia Tech/IMG Sports Network.
