TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 21/23 Virginia Tech lost at No. 12/13 Florida State, 93-78, in ACC men’s basketball on Saturday afternoon in the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Florida. Tech falls to 12-3 overall and 1-2 in ACC play, while the Seminoles improve to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in league action.

Tech jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but FSU took a 48-37 lead into the intermission. FSU pushed the lead to as many as 19 points in the second half, but Tech cut the margin to 82-72 with 1:09 remaining on a three-pointer from Justin Robinson. The Seminoles made their free throws down the stretch and claimed the 93-78 victory.

Chris Clarke led the Hokies with 22 points and eight rebounds. The 22 points ties his career-high and sets a new personal mark for points in an ACC game. Zach LeDay added 19 points and seven rebounds, while Ahmed Hill had 16 points and Robinson added 11 points. Terrance Mann led five Seminoles in double figures with 22 points.

FSU out rebounded the Hokies, 39-34 and forced Tech into 16 turnovers. Tech forced the Seminoles into 13 turnovers. The Hokies shot 45.2 percent from the floor.

The Hokies return to Cassell Coliseum on Tuesday night, as they host Syracuse at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. That contest begins a three-game home stand for the Hokies.
