The Virginia Tech men's basketball team travels to Raleigh, as they play NC State on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 9 p.m. in PNC Arena. This is the Hokies’ first ACC road contest of the season.

THE HOKIES (12-1)
The Hokies enter the game 12-1 overall and 1-0 in ACC action. Tech defeated No. 5/5 Duke, 89-75, in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday. Justin Bibbs led six Hokies in double figures with 18 points. With the victory, Tech has entered both major polls. The Hokies are 21st in the AP poll and 23rd in the USA Today Coaches poll.
THE WOLFPACK (11-3)
NC State enters the game 11-3 overall and 0-1 in league play. The Wolfpack lost at Miami, 81-63, on Saturday. Dennis Smith Jr., leads the Wolfpack in scoring, averaging 19.1 points per game. NC State is coached by Mark Gottfried, in his sixth season in Raleigh.
THE SERIES
This is the 55th all-time meeting between the two schools. The Wolfpack lead the series 39-15. Tech won the last meeting, 73-68, in overtime in Blacksburg last season. State has won the last two games played in PNC Arena. Tech is 2-5 against the Wolfpack in PNC Arena.
