BLACKSBURG, Va. - The Virginia Tech men's basketball team hosts the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 8:30 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum.

THE HOKIES (6-1)
The Hokies are 6-1 on the season. The Hokies recorded a big national win on Nov. 30, as they defeated Michigan, 73-70, in Ann Arbor as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Hokies trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half and by 10 points with 7:23 remaining in the game, but fought back for the victory. Zach LeDay led the Hokies with 18 points and six rebounds, while Justin Robinson added 11 points and four assists.

THE HAWKS (1-7)
Maryland-Eastern Shore enters the game 1-7 on the season. The Hawks defeated Central Penn, 87-74, in Princess Anne, Maryland on Monday night. UMES is led by Bakari Copeland, averaging 14.0 points per game and Ryan Andino, averaging 13.5 points per game. The Hawks are coached by Bobby Collins, in his third season at Maryland-Eastern Shore. Hokie great Ace Custis is an assistant coach on the UMES staff.

THE SERIES
This is the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools and the Hokies have won all six previous meetings. The last time the two schools met was on Nov. 14, 2014, as the Hokies defeated the Hawks, 71-46 in Cassell Coliseum … All previous meetings have been in Cassell. Tech is 28-0 all-time against schools currently in the MEAC.
