THE HOKIES (2-0)
The Hokies are 2-0 to open the 2016-17 season. Tech defeated Maine, 80-67, in Cassell Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 11 and followed that with a 99-73 victory over High Point University on Tuesday night in Cassell Coliseum. Five Hokies are currently averaging in double figures, led by Ahmed Hill, who is averaging 17.0 points per game.

THE KEYDETS (1-1)
VMI enters the game 1-1 on the season. The Keydets lost the season opener at Richmond, 72-69, on Nov. 11 and defeated Southern Virginia, 78-47, in Lexington on Tuesday night. Julian Eleby leads the Keydets, averaging 23.5 points per game.

THE SERIES
This is the Hokies second-longest rivalry, which dates back to the 1908-09 season … Tech is 90-43 all-time against the Keydets. Tech has won the last five games in the series, including an 76-52 win last season in Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies are 55-10 all-time in home games against VMI and 20-1 in Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies are 153-64 all-time against members of the Southern Conference.
